This function is used to read the value of a specified element of an IDN from a specified drive. It should be used when reading an IDN that takes numeric values.
Use the IDNSTATE query to read the execution state of a SERCOS procedure executing on the drive.
Short form
Ival
Syntax
IdnValue (<drive address>, <IDN>, <element>, {<ring>}, {<connection>})
Availability
All versions {<ring>}, {<connection>}) options - since Version 4.7.12 for SERCOS III
Type
<returned value>: Long
Range
<drive address>: 1 to 254
<IDN>: 1 to 65536
<element>: 1 to 7
<ring>:1
<connection>:0 to 2 for normal systems (0 = chose automatically, 1 = first AT connection, 2 = first MDT connection)
Scope
Configuration, Task or Terminal
Limitations
- Read only
- Executed only in SERCOS communication phases 2, 3 and 4.
- The IDN must be defined
- Not supported in EtherCAT system
Examples
?IdnValue(1, 189, 7) ‘Get drive position following error
?IDNVALUE (<drive>, <idn>, <element>)
?IDNVALUE (<drive>, <idn>, <element>, <ring>)
?IDNVALUE (<drive>, <idn>, <element>, , <connection>) --> Translator note: Ring number is zero
?IDNVALUE (<drive>, <idn>, <element>, <ring>, <connection>)
